Asunta is one of the six six Indian girls who will be playing their second Olympic Qualifier. A solid midfielder and tireless players, has been made captain in 2000. A backbone of our team over 8 years, the leadership credit comes to her fittingly. She played Jr. World Cup in 2005; Sr. World Cup and Commonwealth Games twice, and also Asia Cup twice. Asunta hails from Jharkhand, sister of two internationals Bimal Lakra and Birendra Lakra (Sr.). As a student of Government Girls High School, Bariatu, she made her Jr. intnl debut in Hong Kong in 2000 U-18 Cup. Asunta is match winner, on her day she can change the destiny of the match.
