Born on August 9, 1968, the Australian star JAY STACY Represented Australia at four successive Olympic Games. Jay Stacy collected two bronze medals and a silver.
The midfielder donned the green-and-gold at Seoul 1988 but Australia finished fourth and out of the medal bracket. Stacy, however collected medals at the next three Games. Barcelona brought silver four years later, Atlanta and Sydney bronze in the next two Olympic Games.
Stacy’s collection of medals include World Cup bronze at 1990 Lahore and 1994 Sydney.
Stacy, born on August 9, 1968, doubled up as scorer from penalty corners too, supplementing his goals from open play. He topped the scorers’ list with 11 goals at the 1998 Utrecht World Cup where ironically Australia finished fourth and without a medal.
Winner of the 1999 FIH Player of the Year award, Stacy was coach of Dabang Mumbai in the Hockey India League for two seasons.
