She played 78 times for Germany scoring 29 goals.
Born on March 6,1984, Maike Stöckel was adjudged 2007 FIH Rising Star.
The forward’s best moment came in the 2007 EuroHockey Championship in Manchester when Germany beat traditional rivals Netherlands in the final. Stockel finished tournament top scorer with five goals.
The previous year she was a member of the German team to win the Champions Trophy in Amstelveen, the Netherlands.
She participated in two Olympics (Beijing 2008 and London 2012) and three World Cups (Madrid 2006, Rosario 2010 and The Hague 2014) but with no medals accruing.
Voted 2007 FIH Rising Star award, Stöckel took to hockey at HC Essen at the age of four. After moving to Club Raffelberg (Duisburg ), she played for Rot-Weiss Köln from 2004 helping the club win the German league title in 2007.
