Chennai: Officials of the newly-formed Tamil Nadu Hockey Association met one of the arbitrators of the Tamil Nadu Olympic Association in Chennai on Tuesday and showed their strength by bringing 16 district secretaries and four nominees.

One of the TNHA officials AG Kannan of Madurai told ToI that the district secretaries and the nominees, numbering 20, met CR Visswanathan, one of the three members appointed by the Tamil Nadu Olympic Association to sort out the impasse in the state hockey and basketball associations. Kannan said they could not meet the other two members, Walter Devaram and JS Chopra, who were not in the city and submitted the papers relating to their claims to the respective secretaries of the TNOA-appointed members.

“We also went to TNOA secretary Murugan’s office but he was going abroad and so could not meet him,’’ said Kannan. TNOA is expected to resolve the issue on July 12 at its general meeting. TNN
