Match 1: England 3 Australia 1: Alastir Brogdon of England struck the first goal of the 35th Champions Trophy in the sixth minute against Australia. Australians were totally surprised when Sameul Ward struck three minutes before the half time. Christopher Criello replied in the fourth quarter through a penalty corner in the 54th minute, but before the sounds of joy died down, Sameul Ward again struck, capitalizing a big gap provided by the Aussies, who were actually arguing with umpire on the other end, and thus conceded an easy goal.

Match 2: Belgium 2 Pakistan 1: Pakistan came back in spells to end up a honourable loser 1-2 against Belgium.

Pakistan’s captain Imran converted a stroke, to equalize but a surprise acceleration put the match in favour of Belgium. Tanguy Cosyns trapped a neat diagonal inside D by Simon Gougnard to put Belgium ahead, and then Thomas Briels’ solo proved to be the winner.
