Defender Harpal Singh is a product of Sirsa based Namdhari Hockey Academy. He played the 2004 Olympics and many other tournaments. The famous defender plays for Oil and Natural Gas Commission's own hockey team. The effervescent defender played for India for the first time at the gold winning Afro-Asian Games, Hyderabad. He played his only Olympics at Athens.
