India's first Olympic hockey captain Jaipal Singh Munda had been a scholar, politician, Member of Parliament, social reformer and founder of a movement called Adivasi Mahasabha. He migrated to England at young age, had his education in reputed institutions. It was while he was doing  his Masters at Oxford University, he was invited to lead India at the 1928 Olympics. He was Member of Parliament five times, state minister with Bihar in the independent India. He was also a minister with Rajputana Government before he plunged into his own Movement. His autobiography Lo Bir Sendra Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh was published a decade ago.
