Player and Coach running into trouble

Player and Coach running into trouble

Another bad news from women’s front. An young goalkeeper from Chandigarh alleges ‘mis-behaviour’ from goal-keeper coach Alloysius Edwards.
The matter is serious, as proved by the fact that Chief Coach with the team GS Bhangu, in consultation with the Indian Women Hockey Federation, asked the player and the coach in question to leave the camp.

The goalkeeper, Navneet, has already left the camp, so also Edwards.

Navneet was selected for the abandoned Australia tour and was expected to be in the Junior Asia Cup team. It is wished that the matter is amicably settled. Asking both the parties leave camp is compromise, inability to take decisions. How can both the perpetrator and victim be same? Only the guilty should be punished, not both. IWHF need to work more and see that innocent is not punished, be it coach or player.

Women hockey can do better without further controversies.
